I specialise in small-group, on-location all-in-one masterclass photography workshops across the UK. These workshops are designed to help photographers of all levels capture and edit magical and atmospheric locations using a variety of techniques.

About Ben Garratt

My mission is to help photographers slow down, step into nature, and find confidence in their creative process. Through immersive on-location workshops and a complete post-processing journey, I guide beginners and intermediates from the first moment of seeing a scene to shaping the light in post. I aim to inspire thoughtful, portfolio-worthy images that you’ll be proud to print and share.

The Workshop Mission

I believe a photograph isn’t complete the moment you press the shutter, because every image tells a story and every choice you make in the field shapes that story, from light and composition to the subtle details revealed in editing. That’s why every workshop I run teaches the full process, covering both on-location techniques and post-processing, from shaping light and composition to refining mood, depth, and atmosphere.

When you understand both sides of the process, confidence replaces guesswork and creativity becomes intentional. You don’t just capture images, you craft them.

My Philosophy

My Journey into Landscape Photography

My photography journey began in 2021 when I bought my first camera, the Sony A7iii — one of the cameras I still use today. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to refining my craft and capturing the beauty of the natural world.

I first fell in love with creating atmospheric, painterly landscape images while living and travelling in Australia. From misty waterfalls to ancient, wave-battered coastlines, the landscapes there were unlike anything I had ever seen. For me, there is no greater feeling than photographing incredible locations — especially waterfalls. The motion, the mood, and the energy of these scenes have always drawn me in.

Since returning to the UK in early 2025, I’ve had the privilege of exploring more of my homeland and discovering truly magical locations that I had never seen before. I’m now able to share these places with other photographers through my all-in-one masterclass landscape photography workshops.
